LPG (autogas) is another way to cut running costs on a petrol car. The kit works alongside your petrol system, and a dashboard switch lets you run on LPG or petrol.
A sequential LPG kit uses gas injectors, similar to petrol injectors, to give each cylinder a measured amount of LPG. It is available for 3, 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines and gives smooth, petrol-like drivability.
We fit LPG kits and tanks at our Coimbatore and Erode workshops and service kits after fitting.
Both work as bi-fuel systems. The difference is mainly in the tank and where you can refuel.
| Feature | LPG (autogas) | CNG |
|---|---|---|
| Storage | A lower-pressure tank, cylindrical or round | A high-pressure seamless steel cylinder |
| Tank position | A round tank can fit in the spare-wheel well in many cars, leaving the boot free | Usually a cylinder in the boot |
| Refuelling | Only at LPG autogas filling points | Only at CNG stations |
| Kit types | Sequential and conventional | Sequential, conventional and direct injection |
| Best choice when | An LPG filling point is easy to reach on your routes | A CNG station is easy to reach on your routes |
We check the engine and confirm a sequential or conventional LPG system is suitable.
We agree the kit and the tank shape and position with you.
Tank, reducer, injectors, ECU and wiring are fitted and checked for leaks.
The kit is calibrated for smooth changeover and steady running on LPG.
We guide you through the RTO paperwork. See Safety & RTO rules.
